In order to process your graduation, ID Verification is required to receive your certificate. You will be prompted to verify your ID during the graduation process upon completing your Nanodegree program, Executive program and single-paid course.
Requirements
During ID verification, you’ll need to provide:
- A clear and full image of your valid, government issued photo ID
- A clear image of your face
Acceptable types of IDs you can use during the verification process include:
- Passport
- Driver's license
- Government issued ID Card
We cannot verify IDs that are:
- Expired
- Photocopied or Digital Copy
- Not issued by a government
- Blocked information
- Black & white images
- Manipulated
- Files bigger than 8 MB
- PDF files
When you submit your ID information, we make sure your information is secure. Learn more about Udacity’s use of your data and privacy practices here and Jumio’s Privacy Policy here. Also learn about Jumio’s security practices here.
The ID Verification usually takes a few minutes, but occasionally can take up to 24 hours to process. Once Netverify verifies your ID, your graduation page will be updated and you can see the results by refreshing your page.
Troubleshoot ID Verification
If your ID Verification runs into any issues, you may need to retry the process with new images or a different ID. The system will provide an opportunity to try again. Please be sure:
- You are in a well-lit area
- Do not obstruct your ID with your fingers
- There is no blur or glare in your ID photo
- Your images are clear and in color
Images upload issues
If you are experiencing difficulties and can't upload images, try:
- Updating your current device or browser
- Using a different browser or incognito window
- Uploading a .png or .jpg that’s less than 1 MB
- Using the mobile device path, which will provide you with a link to use your mobile device camera
