What is a single paid course?
- Udacity's Nanodegree programs are a series of paid courses. Each paid course is a distinct unit of learning, typically ending in a project where students demonstrate mastery of the skills covered. On average, a learner can finish a course in one month, working 5-10 hours a week.
What is the difference between a Course and a Nanodegree Program and a Free Course?
Difference between a Course and a Nanodegree Program:
- Udacity's Nanodegree programs are a series of paid courses. Each paid course is a distinct unit of learning, typically ending in a project where students demonstrate mastery of the skills covered. On average, a learner can finish a course in one month, working 5-10 hours a week.
- Students who enroll in a paid course will receive all the same support and services as students in Udacity’s Nanodegree programs.
The main differences are:
- A course is a smaller unit of material - a typical Nanodegree program is comprised of 3 or 4 courses
- Course learners will not have access to career-related content or projects.
Difference between a Free Course and Paid Course:
- Every paid course includes project reviews from industry professionals, technical mentor support so you can get help when you need it, and a flexible learning plan so you can learn at your own pace.
- Free courses are standalone courses that range in length and depth of material and do not include the real-world projects that come with paid courses and Nanodegree programs. Additionally, free courses do not have student support or technical mentor support included. We do not offer the option of earning a free certificate.
What is the payment form for courses?
Do I get a Course graduation certificate if I complete a course?
- Yes, Similar to Nanodegree programs, learners will have to complete all ‘required’ components to graduate (e.g. Project work). Upon graduation, learners will receive a graduation certificate link that is shareable for the course they have completed.
Do Courses count towards a Nanodegree program?
- Yes, if a student completes a Course (and passes the associated project), and subsequently enrolls in a Nanodegree program that includes that Course, their completion of the Course will be reflected in the Nanodegree program.
Will I be able to get a job after completing a “ Paid Course”?
- While many of our Nanodegree programs and courses provide you with real-world skills needed within an applicable industry, there are many factors involved in the hiring practices of other companies, as well in as the job market generally, and we cannot make any guarantee that you will find a job after completing our Nanodegree programs or courses.
- At this time Udacity does not offer job guarantees. Instead, our focus is on supporting all of our students with their goals, be it finding a new career, a new role, or simply learning a new skill.
