FAQs about Udacity's New Subscription – Udacity Support

As of September 2023, Udacity has a new model for empowering sustained skill development. in which students can choose to learn any skill or subject from the entirety of Udacity’s catalog of best-in-class content with one subscription. Students will still get access to all the features and services that make Udacity the best place for tangible skill building, but now students can move freely between topics, learning whatever they need, whenever they need it.

Previously, students would select a specific Nanodegree program or Course in which to enroll and were not able to explore different options without enrolling separately in and paying for a different program. With the new model, students pay one fee to access any content they want while they remain an active subscriber.

A monthly subscription is $249, or you can save 20% by paying upfront for an annual subscription for $2,390. Other discount options may be available to certain learners via Udacity’s personalized offers advertised on the website.

Students can choose to subscribe to either a monthly or annual subscription, and once subscribed you have access to the entirety of Udacity’s catalog and can enroll in whatever Nanodegree programs and Courses best align with your goals or interests.
Once enrolled in a course, the classroom experience remains as exceptional as it's always been. Students will continue to benefit from hands-on projects with personalized project reviews, instructors who live the skills they teach, and real-time support, around the clock.

In short, all of it! Subscribers will be able to enroll in any, and as many, of Udacity’s content offerings as you’d like.
Udacity’s catalog consists of:
- Over 80 Nanodegree programs, which range in duration from ~2 months to 6 months (depending on how much time students dedicate each week), and which are designed for those professionals looking to transition into a new role. All Nanodegree programs include multiple real-world projects, which students must pass in order to graduate and receive the certificate that proves your mastery.
- Over 300 Courses, which can typically be completed in <1 month. A lot of these Courses can also be found as part of larger Nanodegree programs, but are made available for ‘a la carte’ enrollment for those students who are looking to acquire a specific skill or fill a knowledge gap, rather than develop an entirely new skillset. The vast majority of Udacity Courses include real-world projects and personalized project reviews, to prove your mastery of the skill.
Udacity’s catalog is dynamic–we’ll be routinely adding new content, updating existing content, and removing old content that’s no longer relevant. All students with an active subscription will have access to all new and updated content that Udacity releases over the course of your subscription.

Udacity’s hallmark Nanodegree programs are made even more valuable in the context this new subscription. Students who are looking to build a robust skillset aligned to the most in-demand tech roles will still have the ability to complete our Nanodegree programs, and in this new context, you can now customize or supplement your learning based on your unique goals.
For example, let’s say you want to be a Product Manager, and have noticed a lot of PM roles call for some SQL experience. You can take our Product Manager Nanodegree program, and then incorporate relevant content from our Intro to SQL courses.

Our mission is to train the workforce of the future. We believe that training for that future requires a sustained commitment to professional development; for the high achievers, skill development is a weekly if not daily habit. This new model is an effort to align our product offering to that reality. Previously, most students would come to Udacity and learn a specific skill set and move on. Moving forward, this new model allows students to rely on Udacity as your destination for progressive and diverse skill development over the course of your career.

Udacity does not support enrollment in individual programs at this time. Students who enroll in the new subscription model have the option of leveraging a range of different content or focusing on a specific Nanodegree program or series of Courses. If you feel like you’ve met your professional/personal goals, you can pause your subscription until you’re ready for the next challenge.
