What is a Single Nanodegree Program?
A Single Nanodegree program is a one-time purchase that grants you access to a specific Udacity program and its resources for up to one year from the date of purchase, allowing you to learn at your own pace without ongoing subscription fees.
How is a Single Nanodegree Program Different from an All Access Subscription?
The Single Nanodegree program gives you access to just one specific program for a one-time fee, while the All Access subscription provides unlimited access to Udacity's entire catalog of programs for a monthly payment. Additionally, in an All Access subscription, you get exclusive access to career courses and personalized career services such as resume, LinkedIn profile, GitHub and Cover Letter reviews.
Is the Single Nanodegree Option Available for All Programs?
Currently, the Single Nanodegree option is limited to select programs in the pilot phase, with plans to expand availability in the future.
What Support is Available with a Single Nanodegree Program?
You will have access to the same mentor support, and personalized project reviews that come with the program, just like in the subscription model.
Can I Purchase Multiple Single Nanodegree Programs?
Yes, you may purchase multiple Single Nanodegree programs, but each Nanodegree program must be purchased separately. However, if you're interested in accessing a range of programs, the All Access subscription is a better option as it provides unlimited access to all of our programs.
Switching Between Plans
Can I Switch from an All Access Subscription to a Single Nanodegree Program?
Yes, however switching from an All Access subscription to a Single Nanodegree program is not automatic. You will need to cancel your All Access subscription and then purchase the Single Nanodegree program separately. Please note that you can only receive a refund if you cancel within the refund period. If you cancel after this period, no partial credit or refund will be provided for the remaining time on your subscription.
Can I Switch from a Single Nanodegree Program to an All Access Subscription?
To switch from a Single Nanodegree program to an All Access subscription, you’ll need to cancel your Single enrollment and then sign up for All Access. Keep in mind that if you're outside of the refund period for your Single Nanodegree program, you won’t receive a partial refund or credit for the switch. You will have access to all content while your All Access subscription is active, and if you cancel your subscription, you will still retain access to the original Single Nanodegree program you purchased for up to a year.
What Happens to My Progress if I Switch to All Access?
Your progress is saved, and you can continue where you left off in the Nanodegree program. Additionally, you’ll gain access to the rest of Udacity’s course catalog.
Can I Purchase a Single Nanodegree Program if I Have an All Access Subscription?
Yes. However, you can purchase a Single Nanodegree program without needing to cancel your All Access subscription. You can have both at the same time, if you wish to purchase a specific program with one year of access while still enjoying the benefits of All Access.
Payments and Refunds
Can I Get a Refund on a Single Nanodegree Program Purchase?
Yes, if you're unsatisfied and request a refund within the refund window, you will receive a full refund. After this period, refunds are not available. Additionally, if you try to repurchase the same Single Nanodegree program again after canceling, you will be ineligible for a refund on the second purchase.
What Happens if I Cancel My Single Nanodegree Program Enrollment?
Canceling within the refund period results in a full refund and removal of course access.
Does a Personalized Offer Apply to Single Nanodegree Purchases?
Yes, personal offers can be used for Single Nanodegree purchases.
Course Content and Access
Will I Receive Content Updates with a Single Nanodegree Program?
Yes, if you’re enrolled in a Single Nanodegree program, you will get automatic updates to any minor updates like bug fixes and improvements for a year. Additionally, if an updated version of the content is released while you're actively enrolled, you’ll see a banner in the classroom offering the option to upgrade. Keep in mind that choosing to upgrade will reset your progress in the current version, and you'll need to start over with the new content. A support document and warning will appear to guide you through this process before you proceed.
Can I Access Career Services with a Single Nanodegree Program?
Career Services are only provided to learners who join Udacity's All Access subscriptions. These services include resume, LinkedIn profile, GitHub and Cover Letter reviews.
What Happens if I Switch from All Access to a Single Nanodegree Program?
If you switch from All Access to a Single Nanodegree program, you will retain access to the course content and projects for the specific program you’ve purchased. However, you’ll lose access to career services as those are only available through the All Access subscription.
Do I Get the Same Projects and Certification?
Yes, you will have full access to all the projects and receive the same verified certification upon completing the Nanodegree program, regardless of whether it’s through a Single purchase or subscription.
Will I Join the Learners’ Community with a Single Nanodegree Program?
Yes, once you’re enrolled, you'll receive an email inviting you to join the learners' community where you can connect with like-minded individuals from around the world, ask questions, share experiences, and participate in events designed to enrich your learning experience.
What if My Program is Deprecated?
If you're enrolled in a program that has a new major version release where the old content is being deprecated, you will be notified of the change in advance to either upgrade to the new version (losing progress) or complete any progress and graduate before the old version's unenrollment date. In rare cases, we may choose to deprecate a Nanodegree program and not replace it with a new version. If that should happen, we will notify you about the deprecation and give you [insert time] to complete the program.
How Do 3rd Party Tools Operate in the Single Nanodegree Model?
3rd party tools like Labs and GPU hours remain within their defined usage limits. Flexibility to complete the program in your own time does not imply unlimited usgae of tools.
Post-Graduation Access
Will I Have Access to Course Materials After Graduation?
After graduating from a Single Nanodegree program, you will continue to have access to the course materials, including lessons, quizzes, and you’ll be able to view previously submitted projects for up to a year from the date of purchase. If you have an All Access subscription, access will remain available until you cancel your subscription.
Will Career Services Be Available After Graduation?
Career services are not available to learners enrolled in a Single program.
Can I Participate in Community Discussions After Graduation?
Yes, as a graduate, you'll receive ongoing access to the Alumni community, including access to different spaces, discussions, and events on the community platform. This allows you to continue engaging with fellow learners and alumni, share insights, and stay connected even after graduation.
Will I Have Mentor Access After Graduation?
Mentorship is active only during enrollment. Post-graduation support is available via community forums.
Will Labs and GPU Resources Be Available Post-Graduation?
No, access to labs and GPU resources ends upon graduation.
Will I Receive Future Course Updates After Graduation?
Yes, after graduating from a Single Nanodegree program, you’ll have the option to access future versions of the content if you wish to learn the updated material.
